01 / Origin
Why it exists.
The founder has run systematic books across FX, futures and commodities, options and betting exchanges. Nearly two decades; markets that share almost nothing.
The same failure appeared in all of them: state nobody owned, costs taken on trust from the venue, a stop argued after the drawdown. The tooling did not travel. The failure did.
MOCR exists because we needed this for our own trading, and the reporting we were handed was rarely sufficient to run on.
02 / The name
Borrowed, not coined.
MOCR — Mission Operations Control Room — was NASA’s name for the Houston rooms from which Gemini, Apollo and Skylab flights were controlled. The name is NASA’s, not ours.
We use it as a homage to a standard of operational practice. We are not affiliated with NASA and imply no endorsement by it.
